Kotlin Backend Engineer

About the role

Wolt is looking for a Kotlin Backend Engineer to join its Merchant Group. You will work on production‑grade microservices that help merchants grow their businesses and streamline operations across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale reliable Kotlin and Go microservices that power merchant experiences.
• Own the full development lifecycle, from business logic and testing to cloud infrastructure and data streaming.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on architecture and technology choices to keep systems simple, scalable, and efficient.
• Participate in code reviews, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and maintaining scalable, production‑grade systems.
• Self‑starter with a strong drive and entrepreneurial spirit.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with teammates.
