Guest Service Officer (Onboard)

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed service to guests aboard a cruise ship. You will actively listen to guest concerns, resolve issues, and ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout their stay.

Key responsibilities

• Assist guests with inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates, and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Maintain a positive attitude, sense of humor, and strong hospitality presence at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related hospitality industry.
• At least one year of cash‑handling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work onboard for a period of 5‑6 months.
• Clear spoken and written English; additional language skills (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) are essential.
