Global Head of Product Engineering and Quality, Motion Drive Products

About the role

Lead ABB Drive Products’ global Product Engineering and Quality function, overseeing product performance, quality, compliance, availability, and cost competitiveness across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global Product Engineering & Quality strategy, translating business priorities into a clear roadmap and operating model.
• Own end‑to‑end product engineering, quality, and portfolio performance, ensuring reliability, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop the global function, strengthening governance, talent development and a high‑performance culture.
• Drive engineering and quality excellence through process, technology, innovation and standardisation.
• Foster cross‑functional collaboration with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management and Sales while managing budgets and capacity planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field with 12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading complex global organisations with responsibility for product portfolios, engineering, quality and customer outcomes.
• Strategic and business acumen to translate strategy into functional priorities and long‑term capability development.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to turn market insights into product and quality improvements.
• Track record in organisational transformation, talent development and succession planning.
• Financial, stakeholder and people leadership skills across cultures and geographies.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong communication and influencing abilities.
