Field Service Technician – Power Generation Equipment

About the role

Aggreko is looking for a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, fault diagnose, repair and commission its power generation equipment at customer sites across Finland and, when needed, elsewhere in the Nordic region. The role is primarily field-based, with most hours spent at customer locations, and the technician acts as the company's on-site representative.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair generators, power distribution equipment and related systems at customer sites
• Install, commission, test and decommission equipment to ensure reliable performance
• Act as the face of Aggreko on site, providing technical support and customer service
• Build relationships with customers and give expert advice to improve equipment reliability
• Work safely according to Aggreko's health, safety and environmental standards
• Complete service reports and keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs
• Support preventative maintenance programmes and minimise downtime through effective fault finding

Required profile

• Technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, automation or a related discipline
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical systems
• Ability to read technical drawings, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Strong commitment to safety and safe working practices
• Valid driver's licence
• Good written and spoken English
• Comfortable working independently and dealing professionally with customers
• Willingness to travel extensively, including frequent overnight stays and occasional trips across the Nordic region

Required skills

• Reading technical drawings, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
• Use of digital systems and reporting tools
• Desirable: Finnish, Swedish or English language skills; experience with diesel engines, generators or power generation equipment; knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and control systems
