Electrical Supervisor / Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Wärtsilä Energy is seeking two Electrical Supervisor/Commissioning Engineers to lead electrical installation and commissioning activities on new‑build power plant projects worldwide. The role involves extensive international travel (approximately 250 days per year) and requires close collaboration with civil, mechanical, and client teams to ensure safe, on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and supervise electrical subcontractors on site, ensuring work follows the Last Planner System.
• Maintain accurate reporting, complete as‑built electrical drawings, and safeguard HSSE compliance.
• Coordinate construction and installation activities with civil and mechanical disciplines.
• Inspect received materials, conduct weekly site meetings, and perform quality control inspections.
• Assist subcontractors with design and installation instructions, planning, and execution of electrical works.
• Advise clients on test planning, execute safe inspections, and oversee testing of installed equipment.
• Document test results, manage punch lists, and ensure all hand‑over documentation is signed by the customer.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supervising electrical installation and commissioning on power‑plant or industrial projects.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally for up to 250 days per year.
• Strong understanding of HSSE policies and risk mitigation in electrical work.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
