Design Engineer – Power Electronics & Frequency Converters

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer specialized in power electronics to join our high‑power product development division in Helsinki. The role involves leading the design, dimensioning and verification of main circuits and power‑electronics architectures for high‑power frequency converters, working from topology evaluation through testing and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, dimension and verify main circuit architectures and power‑electronics components for high‑power frequency converters.
• Research and evaluate new circuit topologies, power semiconductors, inductive components and filter designs.
• Perform circuit and system‑level simulations using Simulink or equivalent tools.
• Develop verification test plans, analyse test data and experimental results, and maintain detailed design documentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electronic and verification engineering teams as well as external subcontractors.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers within the division.

Required profile

• M.Sc. in Power Electronics or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of product development experience in power electronics (or strong academic background with slightly less tenure).
• Professional fluency in English; working proficiency in Finnish is an advantage.
