Database Administrator – PostgreSQL & ClickHouse

About the role

Behind every product we ship sits a database that must be correct, durable and fast. As a Database Administrator you will own the stateful layer of our European cloud platform, managing PostgreSQL and ClickHouse clusters as well as supporting key‑value and document stores. You will be the go‑to engineer for new cluster designs, outage diagnosis and zero‑data‑loss migrations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, operate, upgrade and decommission PostgreSQL and ClickHouse clusters in production.
• Implement replication, high‑availability and failover mechanisms, and maintain backup and point‑in‑time recovery procedures.
• Maintain monitoring, alerting and capacity planning; drive query‑ and schema‑level performance improvements.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, lead incident response for data‑tier outages and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Plan and execute zero‑downtime schema changes, version upgrades and data migrations.
• Operate surrounding key‑value and NoSQL stores (Redis, MongoDB, etc.) and develop automation using Ansible, GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years administering production relational databases with deep PostgreSQL expertise.
• Strong experience with replication, high availability, backup and point‑in‑time recovery.
• Proven track record of performance tuning, on‑call rotations and incident management.

Required skills

• PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redis, MongoDB.
• Linux system administration and debugging.
• Ansible, GitOps, CI/CD workflows.
• Python, Bash, Go scripting.
• Prometheus, Grafana or similar observability tools.
• Kubernetes operators, persistent volumes and storage classes.
