Data Protection Expert – Helsinki/Turku

About the role

Riverty is looking for a Data Protection Expert to join its FinTech team in Finland. You will work from either Helsinki or Turku, supporting business units and management with data‑privacy advice while ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for data protection queries across business departments and senior management.
• Manage and continuously improve the data protection management system within the broader integrated management framework (including information security and compliance).
• Participate in projects involving Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, guaranteeing that processes and services meet data‑protection requirements.
• Develop data‑protection policies, conduct audits, and recommend appropriate technical and organisational measures.
• Monitor legal developments and customer expectations, translating them into actionable measures.
• Design and deliver training sessions on data protection for employees.

Required profile

• University degree in law, business, economics or a related field, preferably with a legal qualification.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in data protection or privacy compliance.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret data‑protection requirements and devise practical solutions.
• Independent, proactive work style with a service‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills; fluent in Finnish and English (Swedish is a plus).
