Construction Manager – Vaasa, Finland

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is seeking a Construction Manager for its Vaasa site in Finland. You will lead the coordination of multidisciplinary work packages on complex engineering projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical and life‑safety work packages.
• Manage site safety together with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including set‑up, monitoring and file closure.
• Oversee site QA in partnership with the Project Manager, handling documentation from start to close‑out.
• Control the project schedule with planners, subcontractors and consulting engineers, facilitating DAB meetings and on‑site actions.
• Monitor package budgets, drive value, and manage logistics costs (labour, material, plant, equipment).
• Supervise day‑to‑day site operations, subcontractor performance and progress tracking.
• Ensure all subcontractor documentation, especially safety records, is up‑to‑date and filed.
• Lead project close‑out activities such as punch‑list, safety file, QA file and material relocation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably in data‑centre or high‑tech environments.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural, MEP and life‑safety disciplines.
• Ability to work closely with safety advisors, QA teams and project planners.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail for documentation and reporting.
