BMS Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer to deliver and commission complex data centre construction projects involving integrated Building Management Systems. The role is site-based in the Helsinki metropolitan area and covers the full project lifecycle, from design review to commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications and designs, identify commissioning and software risks with the Project Manager, and validate design assumptions
• Support proposal preparation, customer-facing documentation, and detailed scope of work and cost estimates with Operations
• Execute software development, commissioning and FAT, integrated system testing and site commissioning, keeping documentation complete and approved
• Coordinate with M&E contractors, subcontractors, consultants and end users, and report progress weekly, escalating delays and risks
• Compile handover documentation including O&M manuals, verify installation quality and subcontractor electrical test documentation, and maintain commissioning records
• Develop, test, load and commission BMS software and network-level controllers, create drawings and equipment schedules, and troubleshoot issues across disciplines
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, project standards and site Health & Safety requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Automation Engineering, or a relevant technical apprenticeship with 5+ years of BMS or control systems commissioning experience
• Strong HVAC and BMS commissioning experience, including AHUs, terminal units, actuators and controllers
• Experience fault-finding electrical starters and control circuits, and commissioning Variable Speed Drives
• Valid Health & Safety certification or equivalent training, and willingness to work onsite at data centre projects in the Helsinki area
• Preferred: previous data centre BMS experience, experience on large-scale or regulated projects, ability to configure workstations and networks, and a valid European driving licence
• Fluent English; Finnish is an advantage
