Automation Service Engineer – Energy Industries

About the role

ABB is seeking an Automation Service Engineer to support service agreement activities across life sciences, chemicals, food & beverage, power generation, district heating, energy conversion, and smart infrastructure. The role involves engineering, commissioning, and customer support primarily in Finland with occasional travel abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Provide service tasks and ad‑hoc problem solving for customers.
• Design, configure, and commission control system hardware and software on‑site or remotely.
• Maintain high‑quality installed‑base data.
• Collaborate with service agreement coordinators, project managers, lead engineers, and customer representatives.
• Participate in upgrade and evolution projects as needed.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in automation engineering or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of power plant automation and electrical systems hardware/software (PLC design).
• Experience in life sciences, chemicals, food & beverage, or power generation sectors.
• Fluency in Finnish and English; Swedish is a plus.
• Customer‑service mindset and willingness to learn IT and cyber‑security topics.
