Tax Manager

About the role

Verda is seeking a Tax Manager to join its finance team in Helsinki. As the company scales its AI cloud infrastructure, the Tax Manager will become the primary point of contact for all tax and compliance matters, building processes that support rapid growth and international expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage Verda’s tax filing obligations across relevant jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as the main contact for tax‑related questions across the business, replacing ad‑hoc handling by non‑specialists.
• Partner with Finance and Legal on tax considerations tied to new market entry and company expansion.
• Build relationships with external tax advisors and coordinate their work.
• Analyze financial data to identify tax optimisation opportunities and support M&A activities by flagging tax risks.
• Design and implement tax processes, documentation, and controls that scale with the business.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of professional tax experience, preferably with a Big Four firm.
• Strong knowledge of European tax filing and compliance requirements.
• Experience analysing tax implications in mergers and acquisitions.
• Ability to operate as the sole tax specialist within a broader finance team and know when to involve external advisors.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to build processes independently.
