System Engineer

About the role

The System Engineer will support the growth of ICEYE's Mission business by assembling, configuring and installing ground systems that process satellite data into images. Work is performed at ICEYE HQ in Espoo or a subcontractor in Warsaw and the systems are shipped to customer sites, often military bases.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure successful deployment and operation of ground systems, guaranteeing reliable data processing.
• Interact with customer technical staff, internal stakeholders and partners to explain concepts and integrate systems smoothly.
• Maintain adherence to technical standards and qualifications, working with Dell VxRail, VMware and Kubernetes.
• Adapt to dynamic timelines, participate in on‑call rotation after onboarding and travel to customer sites as needed.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in network management, firewall orchestration, Dell VxRail, VMware and Kubernetes.
• Automation focus: ability to create version‑controlled configurations and build automated deployment pipelines, using AI‑assisted tools where appropriate.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to customers and internal teams.
• Relevant certifications and formal qualifications are expected.
• Flexibility to work in a fast‑changing environment, travel 10‑15% of the time and join on‑call duties after six months.
