Software Engineer – AI-powered Translation Backend

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable backend services that power real‑time, AI‑driven translation for our Multilingual Intelligence & Resolution Automation (MIRA) team. You will work on cutting‑edge LLM‑based translation engines that enable borderless customer support across 20+ languages.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑throughput backend services for real‑time translation.
• Integrate and evaluate large language models (LLMs) in production, monitoring quality, latency, and cost.
• Build tooling and infrastructure for model evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product, applied science, frontend, and platform teams to deliver robust user‑facing systems.
• Own technical decisions, shape architecture, and improve reliability and operational readiness of production services.

Required profile

• Strong backend development experience with Python or Go.
• Proficiency with modern AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to enhance development workflow.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or similar), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), observability (DataDog), and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Pragmatic problem‑solver with a growth mindset, comfortable handling real‑world data at scale.
