Senior Legal Counsel – Finland

About the role

Arval, a BNP Paribas Group company, is looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel to join its Nordic in‑house legal team as the sole lawyer based in Finland. The role will support Arval’s Finnish business units and, part‑time, the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) line in Helsinki, providing legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and revise contracts covering operational leasing, consumer law, public procurement, insurance distribution, competition law and data protection.
• Support contract negotiations with customers, partners and suppliers.
• Provide ongoing legal support to Finnish business units, identifying risks, advising on legal issues and delivering training.
• Develop and maintain legal templates and related documentation.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes, updating policies, procedures and documentation to mitigate risks.
• Manage legal projects and contribute to group‑wide initiatives, including occasional support for BNP Paribas CIB legal matters in the Nordics.

Required profile

• Finnish Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree.
• Approximately 7–9 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a generalist in‑house setting.
