Research & Evaluation Consultant – Digital Education (Remote)

About the role

The UNICEF Global Digital Education Team is looking for a dynamic Research and Evaluation Consultant to support the rollout of the Digital Education & AI Strategy 2025‑2030. Based in the Learning Innovation Hub in Finland and working remotely, the consultant will help coordinate evidence generation and monitoring across the first cohort of 18 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate research, monitoring and evaluation activities for Cohort 1 countries implementing digital and AI‑enabled teaching and learning programmes.
• Engage with UNICEF country offices, partners and independent researchers to ensure consistent data collection and reporting.
• Manage contracts for independent research studies and translate KPIs and monitoring data into actionable insights.
• Produce multi‑country evidence reports on the impact of digital education interventions on learning and skill outcomes.
• Provide technical advisory support to country teams on M&E design and implementation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in education research, monitoring and evaluation, preferably in international development contexts.
• Familiarity with digital education programmes and AI‑enabled learning tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple stakeholders and travel when required.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and frameworks.
• Experience with data analysis and interpretation for education outcomes.
• Competence in managing research contracts and partnerships.
