Platform Engineer (AWS), Gaming & Entertainment

About the role

Reaktor's award-winning tech community is looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Gaming & Entertainment Business Unit in Helsinki. If you enjoy designing and building large‑scale cloud platforms, working hands‑on with IaC, CI/CD, security and observability, and collaborating closely with product teams and stakeholders, you might be just what we are looking for.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud environments using the latest best practices and technologies to enable product teams to deliver optimal solutions.
• Ensure security and compliance are built into every component you create.
• Enable scalable and resilient infrastructure that can grow with demand and keep digital services running reliably.
• Drive cost‑efficiency by identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs without compromising performance.
• Automate routine tasks to free engineers for higher‑value work.
• Promote standardisation through common tools, processes and configurations to reduce complexity and accelerate development cycles.
• Act as a trusted advisor, working closely with product teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide infrastructure support.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in cloud/infra/DevOps roles, typically accumulated over several years.
• Experience with AWS (and preferably GCP), including multi‑account setups, networking, security, IAM and monitoring.
• Proficiency with at least one IaC tool such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting or programming skills for automation (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell).
• Solid CI/CD experience using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins.
• Practical experience with observability platforms (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK/Opensearch).
• Deep understanding of application architectures and ability to debug platform issues.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices.
• Experience implementing security best practices in cloud environments following industry standards and compliance.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with experience partnering closely with clients and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
