Manager, Specialist Sales – SME Solutions (Northern Europe)

About the role

The Manager, Specialist Sales is dedicated to the Northern Europe division and drives commercial success and market penetration of Mastercard’s products and solutions. This role sits at the intersection of sales, product management and customer engagement, ensuring solutions meet local market needs while aligning with global and regional business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales and revenue growth of SME products, solutions and related services in line with GDV and revenue targets.
• Adapt and localise solutions and go‑to‑market approaches to meet local market needs, regulatory requirements and customer preferences.
• Identify growth opportunities by analysing market trends, customer needs, performance and competitive dynamics, and lead strategic initiatives.
• Engage with customers together with Account Managers and Business Development teams to advance the SME agenda.
• Own end‑to‑end pipeline management, including portfolio optimisation, new‑to‑SME acquisition and defensive strategies such as renewals and RfPs.
• Track and analyse key KPIs, identify gaps and implement actions to improve sales effectiveness.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Mastercard sales, services, account management, marketing and product teams to ensure successful product launches and market adaptation.

Required skills

• Master degree in Business or Engineering.
• Account management and/or sales experience.
• Strong expertise in the payment industry on issuing, acquiring, consumer and corporate sides.
• Proven ability to develop and implement quantifiable business plans.
• Track record of achievement in specialised sales, corporate banking or consulting.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders in complex organisations.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical and operational skills.
• Fluent in English and at least one additional Northern European language (e.g., Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Finnish) desirable.
