Laboratory Technician – Turku

About the role

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join Orion’s VivoCare unit in Turku. The role focuses on daily care of research animals, ensuring their well‑being, and supporting the documentation required for animal‑based studies that underpin new medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine daily care and monitoring of laboratory animals.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of animal rooms and related laboratory facilities.
• Operate, clean, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment used in animal handling and research.
• Prepare and complete required reports and documentation on animal welfare and facility status.
• Collaborate closely with researchers and other personnel to support ongoing studies.
• Occasionally work weekends to meet study schedules.

Required profile

• Commitment to high standards of animal welfare and ethical research.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in a laboratory environment.
• Reliability to work weekdays during daytime hours with occasional weekend shifts.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping.
