Head of Production (Quantum Processors)

About the role
You will lead the ramp‑up and scale‑up of IQM's quantum processor (QPU) production site, turning fabrication and packaging into a repeatable, measurable capability. Working closely with fabrication and quantum engineering experts, you will build the manufacturing backbone that delivers high‑quality quantum computers on time and safely in a clean‑room environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop the production ramp‑up plan, staffing model and operating cadence.
- Lead the QPU production organization, covering chip fabrication, micro‑packaging and material supply.
- Ensure high‑quality QPUs are available for deliveries through clear production planning and demand execution.
- Expand and develop a team of specialists, increasing headcount to match business needs while fostering well‑being.
- Set up production control points, define pass/fail criteria and drive alignment with process engineering.
- Establish yield tracking, loss breakdown across wafer and chip flow, and implement production metrics for daily decision‑making.
- Systematically reduce process variation and collaborate on controlled implementation of new processes and products.
- Partner with project managers, procurement and delivery teams to keep schedules realistic and visible.
Required profile
- Deep understanding of production ramp‑up in a deep‑tech environment.
- Solid knowledge of microfabrication and packaging processes.
- Proven track record of leading a production ramp‑up with measurable impact.
- Strong leadership, performance management and coaching skills.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities to drive consensus across stakeholders.
- Experience working with R&D teams to industrialise new processes.
