About the role

As a Global Category Electronics Specialist you will support ABB's Smart Power division by shaping global sourcing strategies for active, passive and power electronic components. You will work in a hybrid model, collaborating with agile teams, R&D and senior management to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality supply.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop and implement global sourcing strategies for electronic components in close alignment with the global category leader.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, conduct cost‑benchmarking and total‑cost‑of‑ownership analyses, and negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Monitor semiconductor market trends, component lifecycles and supplier performance to proactively manage risk and ensure continuity.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives through volume consolidation, design‑to‑cost and value‑engineering programs.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or commodity management within the electronic components or semiconductor market.
• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or a related field.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (Italian, French, Chinese, German) are a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%.
