Financial Controller – Grid Integration Business

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead financial reporting for Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business in Vaasa, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely reporting while supporting the energy transition across data centres, hydrogen and e‑mobility projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage period‑end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Management, Project Management and Shared Service Centers on payables, receivables and general ledger matters.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning together with the Business Controller.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, corporate policies, GAAP and IFRS, and support audit activities.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to Business and Project Controllers to aid decision‑making.

Required profile

• MSc degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a large multinational corporation.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP and IFRS).
• Experience with general ledger functions and month‑end/year‑end close processes.
• Fluency in English and Finnish; Swedish is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP or Oracle accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
