Field Service Engineer - Mammography & C-Arms (Remote, Finland)

About the role

gehc is looking for a Field Service Engineer to provide installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for Mammography and Interventional Imaging (C-arm) systems across Finland. The role is customer-facing, involves extensive travel and requires strong technical problem-solving and the ability to work independently in hospitals. It reports to the Area Service Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Mammography and C-arm systems.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, networking and system integration issues.
• Execute system installations, upgrades and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and radiation safety requirements.
• Help customers minimise downtime and maximise system performance.
• Work with clinical users, hospital IT departments, applications specialists and project teams.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and reports, and take part in on-call and emergency support.

Required profile

• Degree or technical education in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology, IT or equivalent.
• Previous experience servicing diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Fluent Finnish and good English; valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively in Finland.
• Preferred: previous field service experience in healthcare technology, knowledge of hospital IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, and experience in regulated healthcare environments.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of X-ray technology and imaging systems; experience with Mammography, C-arms, radiography or fluoroscopy is highly desirable.
• Understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking and DICOM environments.
• Ability to read technical documentation and service manuals, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
