Director, Commercial Project Management

About the role

Metso is seeking a Director of Commercial Project Management for its Performance Solutions organization in the Minerals Business Area. The role will lead and develop global commercial project management capabilities, ensuring balanced project execution and sustainable profitability across large mining and minerals processing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and drive commercial excellence across the project portfolio.
• Manage contracts, risks, margins, claims and change processes to generate value.
• Oversee expediting activities, monitoring suppliers and vendors to meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with sales, project delivery, engineering, legal and finance to protect profitability.
• Strengthen contract governance and lifecycle management.
• Enable cross‑functional collaboration among all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master's degree in engineering, business, law, finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in commercial, contract or project management within complex capital projects in mining, process industries, energy or EPC environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in risk management, claims, change management and negotiations.
• Track record of leading multicultural teams and influencing stakeholders across regions.
• Strong business acumen with analytical and strategic thinking.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
