Desk Side Support Field Engineer

About the role

NSC Global is seeking Level 1 Field Service Technicians to provide on‑site technical support for customer systems. The role involves hardware troubleshooting, repair, diagnostics, and customer communication while adhering to service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Attend customer sites within agreed service windows, perform hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and component replacement on desktops, laptops and related client hardware.
• Validate warranty status and asset information, generate electronic service reports, obtain customer sign‑off, and manage parts ordering and return processes.
• Maintain accurate arrival and closure updates in the field service platform, and escalate any unusual incidents or safety concerns immediately.

Required profile

• Experience in Level 1 technical support, field service, desktop support or comparable customer‑facing IT role.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently on customer sites, and a valid driving licence with access to a personal vehicle.
• Fluent in the local language of the territory and proficient written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PC, laptop and client hardware components, BIOS, drivers and operating systems.
• Ability to follow structured diagnostic processes, use built‑in diagnostics, LED fault codes and basic networking principles.
• CompTIA A+ certification is desirable.
