Design Engineer – Mechanical Design & 3D Modelling

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design and 3D modelling to join an international technology company developing AI‑powered security screening systems used to help protect people in high‑security and high‑traffic environments. You will work closely with mechanical, electronics, software and other cross‑disciplinary specialists to bring complex electro‑mechanical products from technical requirements through design, prototyping and production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop product layout designs for security screening equipment based on technical requirements.
• Design product enclosures and mechanical components using sheet metal processing, milling, turning, welding, 3D printing, injection moulding, thermoforming and extrusion.
• Perform basic strength simulations of critical components.
• Prepare technical documentation in accordance with relevant ISO standards.
• Support production and supervise the implementation of designs at different stages.
• Participate in the assembly of prototypes and pre‑production samples.
• Identify opportunities for design optimisation and implement design improvements.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑6 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD.
• Good knowledge of metal processing technologies, including sheet metal bending and cutting, turning and milling.
• Basic knowledge of plastic processing technologies, including 3D printing, injection moulding, thermoforming and extrusion.
• Native Russian and English at B1/B2 level.
