Controller, FX Hedging

About the role

We are looking for a Controller, FX Hedging to join our Energy Global Business Support function. In this role you will support effective foreign exchange risk management, hedge accounting, and financial reporting across the Energy business. The position is based in Helsinki, Finland with hybrid work options.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and train Energy business stakeholders on FX exposure management, hedging principles and hedge accounting.
• Support sales, project management, operations, purchasing, legal and subcontracting functions in managing foreign‑exchange risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage FX hedging transactions in cooperation with Group Treasury, ensuring compliance with policies and internal guidelines.
• Monitor, analyse and report foreign‑currency positions and financial exposures.
• Ensure IFRS‑compliant hedge accounting, including effectiveness testing, documentation, reconciliations and reporting.
• Prepare receivables reports, financial analyses and management reporting to support cash‑flow management and decision‑making.
• Develop hedging practices, financial controls, reporting methodologies, FX‑related tools and ways of working.
• Participate in relevant development projects and maintain effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in FX hedging and hedge accounting.
• Strong understanding of treasury activities, relevant accounting principles and IFRS 9.
• Analytical, forward‑looking mindset with the ability to work proactively and independently.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills in a matrix organisation.
• Understanding of contractual concepts and legal terminology.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
