Civils Supervisor - Data Centres

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with a strong presence in the data centre sector, is recruiting an experienced, site-based Civils Supervisor for its data centre team in Oulu, Finland. The role plans and carries out daily site duties such as quality control of several construction contractors and oversight of work ensuring industrial processes, materials and products meet requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage governance, communication and management control systems for the client's essential services and works.
• Monitor team performance and initiate safety or performance improvements; monitor and audit compliance with management systems and report as required.
• Take part in project risk management, identifying risks and driving mitigation activities.
• Run weekly technical and progress meetings and lead daily site progress reviews covering HSE, logistics and progress against the programme.
• Manage design stage deliverables, including fast-track works packages, permits and approvals.
• Produce formal reports on progress against baseline, milestones and KPIs, and present to the Employer's representative.
• Manage the relevant contracts and handle timely invoicing and receipts.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in construction, ideally with data centre and/or mission-critical projects such as pharma/life sciences or nuclear.
• Availability for on-site work.
• Experience coordinating numerous subcontractors.
• Leadership experience and understanding of specifications, project plans and project documents.

Required skills

• Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
• Computer skills including Microsoft 365 and construction project management software.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
