Civils Construction Manager – Data Centres

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with a strong presence in the data centre sector, is recruiting an experienced, site-based Civils Construction Manager for its data centre team in Oulu, Finland. The role plans and carries out daily site duties, including quality assurance and quality control of several construction contractors and oversight of industrial processes, materials and products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage governance, communication and management control systems for the client's essential services and works
• Review the organisations of the parties involved and recommend alignment measures
• Interface management between contractors and monitor team performance, initiating safety or performance improvements when needed
• Audit compliance with management system requirements and report as required
• Take part in project risk management, identifying risks and driving mitigation activities
• Run weekly technical and progress meetings, manage client stage-gate reviews and conditions precedent, and oversee design deliverables alongside fast-track procurement and permitting
• Lead daily site progress reviews covering HSE, logistics and progress against the programme
• Produce formal reports on progress against baseline, milestones and KPIs, and prepare weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports and presentations for the Employer's representative
• Manage the relevant contracts and the timely issuance of company invoices and receipts

Required profile

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in construction, ideally with data centre and/or mission-critical projects such as pharma/life sciences or nuclear
• University degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or construction-related field
• Availability for on-site work
• Experience coordinating numerous subcontractors and leadership experience

Required skills

• Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills
• Understanding of specifications, project plans and project documents
• Computer skills including Microsoft 365 and construction project management software
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and identify priorities
