Operational Purchaser

About the role

As an Operational Purchaser you will manage the full spare‑parts procurement cycle, from requirement identification to delivery, ensuring timely and cost‑effective supply for our global service operations. The position is based in Vaasa, Finland, with a hybrid work model and a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, execute and monitor purchase orders for spare parts.
• Follow up proactively on orders, handle supplier invoices and manage claims.
• Coordinate delivery logistics and expediting to guarantee on‑time, cost‑efficient receipt.
• Maintain material and logistics data in SAP and related systems.
• Monitor supplier performance and report on key metrics.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to improve processes and support operations.

Required profile

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience in purchasing, logistics or transportation, preferably in spare‑parts business.
• Basic understanding of supply‑chain management, inventory planning, customs data and product compliance.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Finnish.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with Supplier Portal systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
