Staff Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

ICEYE is expanding its SAR satellite constellation and needs a senior mechanical engineer to ensure spacecraft hardware meets strict aerospace quality standards. The Staff Mechanical Design Engineer will lead mechanical design, integration and qualification of space hardware, supporting reliable and cost‑effective manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead trade studies, design reviews (PDR/CDR) and produce verification and production qualification documentation (PRR/ERR).
• Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, AIT engineering and QA to guarantee compliance with launch and on‑orbit environments.
• Define mechanical requirements together with system and subsystem engineers for new products.
• Support issue resolution during product integration and provide cross‑disciplinary mechanical design support when needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive or related industries designing complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical stress, vibration and thermal effects on space structures.
• Familiarity with ECSS, NASA and MIL standards.
