Senior Mechanical Engineer – UPS Systems Design

About the role

Eaton’s modern campus in Vantaa, Finland, is expanding its critical power systems business. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will lead the design, innovation, documentation, and testing of mechanical components for UPS systems and accessories.

Key responsibilities

• Develop cutting‑edge sheet‑metal, die‑cast, and injection‑molded parts.
• Select strategic materials and optimise surface treatments.
• Execute product cost‑optimisation initiatives.
• Apply DFSS methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Design for maintainability and superior customer experience.
• Ensure safety standards through proactive design leadership.
• Design cables and harnesses for system integration.
• Conduct thermal analysis, design optimisation, and validation testing.
• Perform advanced FEM analyses (vibration, seismic, static) to guarantee product integrity.
• Lead prototype development from concept to hands‑on realization.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs.
• Provide expert analysis and rapid resolution of complex product challenges.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to product management, support, and sales teams.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solid experience in mechanical design of power‑electronics equipment.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a project team and manage multiple tasks.
