Development Manager

About the role

As a Development Manager in the Analytics Department of Orion’s Commercial Product Development and Lifecycle Management organization, you will act as the analytical expert for product maintenance and pharmaceutical development projects. The role is non‑laboratory based and supports the full lifecycle of finished pharmaceutical products, working from either the Espoo or Turku plant with a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate analytical activities for lifecycle management, variation, and marketing‑authorization projects.
• Write, review and approve analytical documentation, study reports and validation records.
• Manage analytical investigations, troubleshooting, and stability studies for finished products.
• Coordinate work with external service providers and participate in cross‑functional project teams.
• Oversee method transfers, validation activities and analytical method lifecycle management.

Required profile

• University degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Strong understanding of chromatographic techniques, especially HPLC, and other pharmaceutical analytical methods.
• Experience working in a GMP‑regulated environment with pharmaceutical finished products.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and routine operational responsibilities.
• Fluent in Finnish and English with good communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• High‑performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and other chromatography techniques.
• GMP‑compliant analytical practice.
• Analytical method validation, transfer and lifecycle management.
• Use of SAP and pharmaceutical quality systems.
